The Red Cross Carinthia recently expanded its fleet to better equip the emergency services in the districts of Feldkirchen, Hermagor and Spittal. This measure is of great importance, since the new vehicles - including modern operations managers and scooters - enable the helpers to act faster and more professional in an emergency. Similar models have proven to be indispensable in the past in the case of disaster operations.

In a solemn handover on July 24, each of the three districts received a new Dacia Duster brand and so -called Honda SH125i scooters, which are intended for outpatient services. The President of the Red Cross Carinthia, Dr. Martin Pirz, said: "With the handover of the new operations manager vehicles and scooters, we can optimally equip our emergency services and further increase their efficiency." These vehicles are equipped with basic equipment that includes radio devices and lists, which increases the mobility and independence of the operations manager.

The improvement in operational readiness

Karl Heinz Hohenwarter, the district rescue commander, explained the importance of these new vehicles: "Before we got the command vehicle, our emergency services rely on a platform truck that was needed elsewhere in urgent cases. Now the operations managers can rely on their vehicle and react immediately in an emergency." This is particularly important because the Gailtal is often affected by exceptional weather conditions such as floods or snow masses.

The new vehicles not only contribute to efficiency, but also to the safety of the helpers and the population. With this initiative, the Red Cross Carinthia shows that it is constantly trying to improve the infrastructure for rescue workers and thus ensure higher operational readiness.
