The international community faces a shattering reality: the war in Ukraine has been taking three years now and the situation of the civilian population is increasing. As OTS are more than 13 million Ukrainians, while the constant attacks on civilian objects, including Houses, hospitals and schools that shape daily life. The aid organization "Neighbor in Need" is still on site and offers urgently needed support in the form of accommodation, medical care and psychosocial accompaniment. Vulnerable groups such as older or sick people who are often cut off from others are particularly affected.

The desolate situation requires immediate measures. Michael Opriesnig from the Red Cross emphasizes that, despite the long -lasting crisis, humanitarian aid is not allowed to let up, since people, especially women and children, continue to suffer from extreme conditions. Medical care is severely impaired and around 1,200 health facilities were destroyed by the ongoing conflict. According to ORF , mobile health teams create access to urgently needed treatments in remote areas in converted rescue vehicles. In addition, aid organizations have supported around 2.7 million people since the beginning of the war by setting up emergency accommodation and repairing damaged apartments.
About the neighbor in the emergency initiative are mobilized additional resources. For many, support is not only life -saving, but also the only way to get the most necessary. Relationships with aid organizations ensure a little security in the middle of uncertainty and hope among the traumatized people. In order to give these people a perspective, it is crucial that the international community does not allow and continues to show solidarity. The ORF supports this concern with donations to maintain the help and to persuade as many people as possible in Austria to support.
