At the scene of the accident, where Mäder died, an earth wall was built to prevent future accidents. The sculpture with the title "Connected" was financed by the driver union CPA and the Tour de Suisse. Numerous people present laid stones with personal messages to the sculpture, and the team Bahrain-Victorious honored the former racing driver with a placed jersey. After the commemoration, the cycling professionals started a little later in La Punt to the 5th stage of the tour.
