Field fire in St. Pölten: Seven fire brigades in large -scale use!

On July 2, 2025, there was a large field fire near Witzendorf, in the St. Pölten-Land district. The fire brigade center was alerted at 2:30 p.m. after the fire began to spread quickly. The preliminary cause of the fire is attributed to a combine harvester in operation, which probably triggered the hall fire. A total of seven fire departments from the region were on duty to combat the fire.

The head of operations coordinated a comprehensive extinguishing concept to control the fire that threatened the residential and farm building as well as the town center. The tank fire vehicles were introduced from different directions to the stove of the fire, whereby special attention was paid to the west side of the fire, where the fire spread particularly quickly. Finally, the affected area of around 10,000 square meters was brought under control until around 4:50 p.m. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
