Emma Felbermayr is fighting in Jeddah - 15th place and chances of title swing!
The second weekend of the F1 Academy season 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, ended disappointing for Emma Felbermayr because it remained without points. The young driver started in the main race of eighth place and was able to hold her position until the second round. But an incident occurred in the second curve in which it was hit by Rafaela Ferreira (Campos Racing/Racing Bulls) and fell back to 17th place. Aurelia Nobels (Art), on the other hand, was able to avoid the incident and flourished.
In the course of the race, however,Felbermayr showed a fighting spirit and worked past Aiva Anagnostiadias and Nicole Havrda (Hitech TGR) until the tenth round. Ultimately, she finished the race in the 15th place. After this weekend, Felbermayr now has ten points in the championship and is currently taking eighth place. The next race of the F1 Academy is on May 3 and 4 in Miami, which will take place as a Formula 1 supporting program. The races are broadcast by orf and the YouTube channel of the F1 Academy.
rookies and talents in Formula 1
The F1 Academy is not only a platform for aspiring drivers, but also part of the larger Ekosystem of Formula 1, in which many new talents are encouraged. In the 2025 season, six rookies will play their first full season in Formula 1, including Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), Jack Doohan (Alpine) and Oliver Bearman (Haas). The Situation at Red Bull, which despite Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar's ascent continues to have an oversupply of drivers, is particularly interesting
At Mercedes, the focus focuses on Andrea Kimi Antonelli, where there is less competitive pressure. The competition in the junior academies is nevertheless noticeable, especially at Alpine, where Gabriele Mini and Kush Maini vie in Formula 2 for the attention of the team management. Tim Tramnitz, on the other hand, will fight for the title in Formula 3 in Formula 3, which also increases interest in the descending talents.
Developments in the F1 Academy and the meeting of young talents in Formula 1 illustrate the commitment of the teams to promote new drivers and to establish the next generation of motorsport stars. The next races will show which talents can continue to fight up and possibly have a greater future in Formula 1.
