Dornbirn, Österreich - On June 6, 2025, the opening of the new changing rooms of the Emma & Eugen Dornbirner SV took place at the Haselstauden sports field. At this event there were high -ranking representatives of the city, including Mayor Markus Fäßler, City Councilor Christoph Waibel and chairman Herbert Lenz. Mayor Fäßler underlined the improvement of the spatial situation for the Dornbirner SV, which includes a total of 15 teams, including 13 in the youth field. The importance of the association for young sports in Dornbirn also emphasized sports councilor Barbara Röser.

Hochstadtkat Waibel reported on the new building, which was built as a modern timber building on the existing floor slab. This is a sign of sustainable building. The construction period was five months, from November 2024 to April 2025, and the city of Dornbirn invested around 1.74 million euros in this project.

Details on the new sports infrastructure

The new building not only meets the modern requirements for the sports infrastructure, but also ecological standards. The equipment includes eight changing rooms, seven shower and sanitary rooms as well as adjoining rooms for coaches: inside, referee: inside and camp. The building energetically relies on sustainability: a green roof with a photovoltaic system, an air heat pump for hot water and heating as well as a ventilation and ventilation system with heat recovery ensure economical energy consumption.

The old locker building from 1974 was no longer economically renovated. Problems with the thermal shell, a lack of heating and water damage made a renewal essential.

Sportgymnasium Dornbirn: Another investment in the future

At the same time, investments are made in education and sport. In August 2021, the construction of the Dornbirn sports high school began, which is an important project by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. The implementation takes place by the Federal Immobilien Society (BIG). The modern five-storey building integrates harmoniously into the existing HTL building and offers space for innovative learning concepts and sporting activities on 2,800 square meters. The HTL extension includes additional classrooms and an open learning zone.

The opening of this educational institution is celebrated by numerous guests, including Minister of Education Martin Polaschek. A special feature of the sports high school is the connection between education and sport, which is promoted by modern classrooms and its own school canteen with a sport -friendly diet. A total of 40 teachers are drawn: inside and 308 students: Inside the new school, which will benefit both previous and future graduates: inside.

Support from state funding programs

The construction and renewal of sports facilities is also funded by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building. Three programs are used: the investment pact sports facilities, the social integration investment pact in the district (SIQ) and the federal program for the renovation of local institutions in the areas of sports, youth and culture (SJK). By October 2022, 1,251 measures had already received funding, which applies primarily to the renovation and expansion of sports facilities.
