In the night of Saturday, July 5, 2025, a severe fire occurred in Norderstedt, Garstedt district in an underground car park in Berliner Allee. At 3:43 a.m. the professional fire brigade Norderstedt and the Garstedt volunteer fire brigade were alerted by the fire alarm system. The Harksheide volunteer fire brigade was also requested for logistical and technical support, while a resignation container from the Friedrichsgang volunteer fire brigade was deployed for decontamination.

A car burned out completely, while the ceiling of the underground car park was significantly damaged. The fire brigade had to install building supports to ensure the stability of the structure. Here, too, the police are investigating the cause of the fire.

The events in Norderstedt and Wedel throw a light on the dangers that arise from car fires in underground garages. According to the initiative for damage prevention, such fires are often a risk of taking it seriously, especially in urban residential areas.
