In the night of Saturday, July 5, 2025, a severe fire occurred in Norderstedt, Garstedt district in an underground car park in Berliner Allee. At 3:43 a.m. the professional fire brigade Norderstedt and the Garstedt volunteer fire brigade were alerted by the fire alarm system. Previously, a police patrol had perceived massive smoke development and bright noises, which led to an immediate increase in the operational stitch word to "Fire larger standard" (Feu G).

The fire brigade was deployed with a considerable line -up of around 70 emergency services, including the volunteer fire brigades from Glashütte and Harksheide. The head of operations, Fabian Wachtel, coordinated the extinguishing work, which due to the difficult conditions over a period of about 45 minutes to around 06:45. The challenges included a high thermal load, limited visual conditions and a limited air circulation in the underground car park.

In the underground car park there were three cars in full fire. To combat the fire, the fire brigade used three hand -led jet pipes, two of which were operated with compressed air foam (CAFS). Despite the intensive efforts of the fire fighters, the post -extinguishing work and cooling of the affected vehicle areas was time -consuming. The Harksheide volunteer fire brigade was also requested for logistical and technical support, while a resignation container from the Friedrichsgang volunteer fire brigade was deployed for decontamination.

Fortunately, there was no personal injury during the entire mission, but the damage caused by property was initially unclear. The cause of the fire is currently uncertain and is determined by the police.

A car burned out completely, while the ceiling of the underground car park was significantly damaged. The fire brigade had to install building supports to ensure the stability of the structure. Here, too, the police are investigating the cause of the fire.

The events in Norderstedt and Wedel throw a light on the dangers that arise from car fires in underground garages. According to the initiative for damage prevention, such fires are often a risk of taking it seriously, especially in urban residential areas.
