medical emergency care and emergency services

The medical care of all those affected was initiated immediately and the patients were transported to the surrounding hospitals after emergency medical treatment. For the incident, the alarm level "mass attack of injuries - up to ten people (MANV 10)" was triggered. Among the injured was a person who was in acute danger to life and also had to be taken to a hospital.

The set -up trains of the full -time waxing and numerous voluntary units, including a drone unit, the Technical Relief Agency (THW) and the German Red Cross were among the intervening emergency services. A team of psychosocial emergency care was also requested to look after the victims and their relatives. The THW forces were also on site to assess the building damage.

material damage and building management

The building environment was badly affected. The affected house had to be cleared and the residents were housed in a regular bus. The return to the apartments remains unclear for the time being, since the building was supported by the THW forces. However, it is expected that further information on the exact damage and the rehabilitation of the building will be provided in the coming days.

The fact that accidents like this occur again and again shows the need for traffic safety programs. As early as 1973, the Bundestag decided to regularly create accident prevention reports. These reports concern all aspects of traffic safety and support the Federal Government in the implementation of its traffic safety strategies, such as in the Mobility Forum.

The traffic safety program from 2011 was only recently expired, and the Federal Cabinet has decided on a new program for the years 2021 to 2030. The report on traffic safety will be published regularly in the future and should inform about the progress in accident prevention, as in Recklinghausen.
