The Trummenhof returns: Grinzing's legendary bar opens after years!

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the legendary Trummelhof Bar in Grinzing returns after eight years of closure. This historical bar, which was once built at the site of a Roman watchtower, is not only a popular meeting place for locals and tourists, but also attracted numerous celebrities. The closure in 2016, caused by neighboring reports and high renovation costs, represented a bitter setback for the Viennese bar landscape. Now the doors of the Trummenhof Bar are open again to start a new era after 3,249 days of inaction, such as OE24 reported.

The return of the bar promises a traditional ambience with an extensive range: guests can look forward to 15 types of beer, a selection of exquisite wines and over 40 cocktails. The spiritual card was also expanded exclusively. "It is an incredible feeling to finally be able to open the doors again," says the Trummenhof team. The past few months have been used to combine the old charm of the restaurant with a modern flair, which is considered an important step into the future of the Trummenhof. The bar will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 4 p.m.

A look back at the story

The Trummenhof Bar has a long and moving history. Originally founded as a brewery, she quickly developed to the meeting point for young and old after the war. In 1987 Sepp Martin took over the bar and carried out extensive renovations. Under the direction of Christoph Rohacky, a gentle relaunch took place in 2012, in which the technical facilities were brought up to date, as Findglocal noticed in his reports. The bar expanded its offer and now provides a WiFi hotspot and modern entertainment technology, which makes it an ideal place for events of all kinds.
