The health sector in Burgenland receives fresh wind from the new settings of two highly qualified doctors in the Oberwart Clinic. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil recently welcomed the new Primare Peter Kornprat and Martin Pichler, who should make a decisive contribution to improving patient care.
The appointment of Kornprat as head of the surgery and Pichler department for the newly created department for oncology and palliative medicine is part of the comprehensive health initiative of the Burgenland. This initiative aims to optimize medical care in the country and to counteract the shortage of doctors.

Primarius Peter Kornprat, born in 1966, brings a remarkable career as a specialist in surgery. After studying medicine in Graz, he worked on various medical facilities, including at renowned clinics in Klagenfurt and Graz. He wants to raise the surgical department in Oberwart to a new level with his expertise.
his colleague, Primarius Martin Pichler, who was born in Graz in 1978, established himself as one of the leading cancer. With extensive training and more than 300 scientific publications, he is committed to a high -quality supply of cancer patients.
"The establishment of its own department for hematology and internal oncology was an excellent decision for the quality in cancer medicine," said Pichler about the new possibilities in Oberwart.
The two primary have already shown plans to improve patient care. They emphasize that the extended medical infrastructure reduces the need to travel to other cities for complex treatments. "We hope that the patients can receive their medical care directly near them," explains Kornprat.
The Burgenlanders are increasingly proving to be an attractive workplace for doctors, not only because of the improved salaries, but also by investing in modern medical facilities and creating new ones. Doskozil speaks of a turnaround in dealing with the shortage of doctors and emphasizes that a lot was achieved here by the newly introduced medical package.
"We have already halved the open doctor points. This positive development emphasizes the Burgenland as a location for medical specialists," said Doskozil. This measure is intended to help to continue to attract highly qualified staff into the region and at the same time ensure medical care on site.
