Annual inspection of the Schadendorf fire brigade: a success at all levels

At the Schadtendorf fire brigade, an important inspection was recently carried out, which is an important part of the security and training requirements. On Friday, September 20, 2024, District Fire Brigade Commandant Deputy Gernot Gruber had the task of leading the inspection. A total of 55 firefighters were actively involved, 40 of them from the operations department and 15 from the youth fire brigade.

First, comprehensive written control was carried out, followed by a practical exercise. This included a demanding simulated operational experience: a fire in a building in which several people were missing. Such a scenario places high demands on the emergency services because it reproduces realistic emergency situations and the firefighters optimally prepared for real operations.

The scenario of exercise

The implementation of the exercise was professional and the firefighters mastered the challenge with flying colors. These types of exercises are crucial to ensure operational readiness and to train the team, which must react quickly and efficiently in an emergency. Such events also promote cohesion in the fire brigade because they have to work in the team and support each other.

The feedback after the exercise was consistently positive. The participants felt well prepared and confident that they could use their skills in a real emergency situation. These inspections are not only important for training the emergency services, but also to ensure that the equipment and measures are up to date.
