New debt for Project Tomorrow: Burgenland relies on energy self -sufficient

At the presentation of the budget, Economic Councilor Leonhard Schnünmann announced a new debt in Burgenland in the amount of 50 million euros. The loan is fully invested in the "Tomorrow" project, which was founded together with Burgenland Energie to promote the country's energy self -sufficiency.

The total budget of the Burgenland amounts to 1.94 billion euros, with targeted investments being implemented in renewable energies, especially in solar and wind power. The proceeds from the project should finance the Gols Clinic in the future. Other priorities for 2025 are investments in health, care, public transport, affordable living and measures against inflation.

While Schneeman praised the past successes such as the minimum wage and the free kindergarten in Burgenland, he also criticized the inactivity of the federal government in relation to the asylum crisis. The opposition, in particular the ÖVP and the FPÖ, showed themselves concerned about increasing debt and demanded a radical turnaround in financial policy.

The Greens of Burgenland rejected the budget and complained that too many debts were outsourced to the Landesholding, which merged the actual financial situation of the country. The discussion about the budget decisions will continue at the upcoming budget state day in mid -December.
