A new water management project in the Fertö-Neusiedler See region is initiated by the Foster Europe (Foundation for Strong European region) in Eisenstadt. The starting shot was given with a seminar and a panel discussion, which took place in Neusiedl am See on Wednesday. The aim of this project is to bring the different interests and concepts of the parties involved together, as was emphasized by the organizer.

The project comprises a total of eight EU countries, with the Austrian part concentrated on sustainable and resilient approaches for water management around Lake Neusiedler. An essential focus is on citizen participation in order to make the process transparent and reach a wider public.

public events and school seminars

After an internal conference, a public event took place in the evening, in which well -known personalities such as Harald Grabenhofer from the Neusiedler See National Park and Patrik Hierner from the Nordburgenland tourism association contributed to the topics discussed. The following day, a seminar with students from the Neusiedl am See high school was planned to also include the younger generation in the discussion.

The entire project is created over a period of two years and aims to find sustainable solutions that meet both the ecological and economic needs of the region. It remains to be seen which concrete results this interplay of the various interest groups will produce, How www.vol.at reports .
