FUNDERMAX in Neudörfl: 60 jobs affected, locations secured
FUNDERMAX, an important manufacturer of wood materials, has announced that up to 60 employees are released at the Neudörfl site. This measure takes place in the course of a necessary adaptation of the production capacities to the current market situation. According to the company, however, the employees concerned are not without support; FUNDERMAX offers help with the search for new job opportunities.
In an official message, Gernot Schöbitz, Managing Director of Fundermax, stated that the decision was due to the high price pressure and the difficult economic situation. "Due to the weak economy and market development, we decided to reorganize the production in Neudörfl," continued Schöbitz. The workforce was already informed about the upcoming job cuts on Tuesday, and the company plans to coordinate closely with the works council to offer suitable alternative positions within the group.
affected and not affected locations
at the Neudörfl location, which has been producing high -quality raw chipboard for over 50 years and employs around 200 employees, this decision is particularly painful. Nevertheless, the company emphasizes that jobs in the other production facilities, especially in St. Veit an der Glan and Wiener Neudorf, are not endangered. "We want to secure future production in Neudörfl with around 140 employees and the works in St. Veit and Wiener Neudorf," said Schöbitz.
The effects of this decision are noticeable for the region because Fundermax is an important employer. However, the willingness of the company to actively support affected employees in the job search shows that one is aware of responsibility for the employees. This could make an important contribution to alleviating uncertainty by the upcoming changes.
