Anniversary celebration: 50 years Josef Reichl-Bund and 30 years of Museum Güssing
A special cultural event is celebrated in Güssing, because three anniversaries are on the program. On Friday, October 11th, a festive event will take place in the city hall to honor the 50th anniversary of the Josef Reichen Association as well as the 30-year anniversaries of the Emigration Museum and the Josef Reich Museum. The celebrations begin at 7:00 p.m.
The Josef Reichen-Bund was launched in 1974 under the direction of Johann Jandrasits to offer a forum to the home poet Josef Reichl, who shaped the cultural heritage of Burgenland. This association does an important work to promote awareness of the dialect and folk culture in the region. Lifelong learning and cultural consciousness formation are in the foreground of the activities of the federal government.
Development of the museums
The opening of the emigrant museum and the Josef Reichl Museum took place in October 1994 in the Josef-Reichl-Haus in Stremtalstrasse, which is also known as the "old Hofmühle". Over the past 30 years, both museums have developed into important institutions in Burgenland. They document the history of the South Burgen countries and inform about the emigration movements that many people in the region affected.
The two museums, which are operated together by the Josef Reichen Association and the Burgenland community, have set themselves the task of presenting the role of Josef Reichl as a pioneer and supporter of the Hiazische dialect in their exhibitions. In addition to the acting examination of history, the exhibition aims to sensitize people to local cultural questions.
These anniversaries are not only a reason to celebrate, but also an opportunity to appreciate the history and culture of Burgenland. They bring people together and strengthen the sense of community by sharing traditions and memories. www.meinbezirk.at .
