Nobi's sparkling wine cellar in Eisenstadt: bankruptcy with far -reaching consequences
The Nobis sparkling wine cellar is facing difficult times: On December 18, 2024, a renovation process without self -administration was opened at the Eisenstadt regional court. According to the KSV1870, the company's liabilities are around six million euros, while the assets only make up 1.2 million euros. The bankruptcy concerns about 70 creditors and 12 employees and is mainly attributed to the economic consequences of Covid 19 pandemic, which significantly affects sales development. Effective measures to stabilize the company have not yet been successfully implemented, and the financing of a new building in Zurndorf also turned out to be problematic. In order to reduce the debt burden, the building law and the property of the new building should be transferred to Hipster Invest GmbH, which could reduce the liabilities by around 4.2 million euros.
The A-Nobis Sektkellerei Norbert Szigeti GmbH, which was founded in 2018 and is based in Gols, also fights for survival. On the same day, the sparkling wine cellar made an application to open a renovation process after it had financial difficulties for the first time in 2023. Here, too, the liabilities amount to around six million euros, although the assets are also 1.2 million euros. After a collapse in the demand from the catering trade as a result of pandemic, the means of repaying loans were exhausted, which resulted in bankruptcy. As meinbezirk.at , the location in Zurndorf is to be closed and the company should be shifted to Gols. The creditors of A-Nobis are also offered a repayment of 20 percent of the claims.
The Burgenland business agency assures that the bankruptcy of the A-Nobi sparkling wine cellar will not bring any financial burdens about the country. The business is to be secured by selling 195,000 bottles of raw sparkling wine that were previously bought by the business agency. Criticism of the situation comes from the ÖVP and the FPÖ, which perceives bankruptcy as failed economic policy, while the SPÖ rejects the accusation of party political instrumentalization. These developments impressively show how strongly the Covid 19 pandemic has hit the local economy and what deep traces it leaves.
