New construction project in Wulkradersdorf: Living, Health and more is created

In Wulkradersdorf, the groundbreaking ceremony for an important construction project has recently taken place, which will include both new apartments and a health center. This large-scale project that the BWS group realizes is an important step to revitalize the town center, which counts around 2,000 inhabitants. Completion is scheduled for 2026.

With the upcoming construction of 30 modern apartments, a Raiffeisenbank and a health center that consists of several medical practices and a pharmacy, one would like to ensure that the new location offers added value for all age groups. Mayor Friedrich Zarits emphasizes that the “Wulkradersdorf in the middle” project is not only an example of sustainable building, but also positively noticeable through wood construction and photovoltaic systems on the roof areas.

The first construction phase and its facilities

The first construction phase that has recently started includes a medical center that will include a community doctor's office, an ophthalmologist, an orthopedic surgeon and a physiotherapist. In addition, a modern Raiffeisenbank will be created that meets the growing needs of citizens. According to Rudolf Suttner, board member of Raiffeisenlandesbank Burgenland, the bank is very popular in Wulkradersdorf and is now being brought up to date.

In the back of the project, the 30 barrier -free apartments, with two to four rooms, will be built until the first quarter of 2025. Most of these apartments are already reserved by the population in Wulkradersdorf. While the project is progressing, the planned nursing base is also located in the Fasangasse in the last phases of approval. The mayor emphasizes that this project grabs large parts of the goals defined in the local development concept, such as the revitalization of the town center.

For the governor's deputy Astrid Eisenkopf, it is crucial that local cores become living meeting points for the residents. Wulkradersdorf takes on a pioneering role in Burgenland. Within one kilometer, numerous important facilities such as grocery stores, a minibar, the municipal office, the medical center, the bank and a pharmacy can be reached. Cultural and sporting institutions such as elementary school, the sports field and the Café Anna are also in the immediate vicinity.

The combination of living space and a comprehensive range of services should be increased, the quality of life of the residents is to be increased. Mayor Zarits is convinced that this project is an essential part of the community's vision of creating a lively and attractive town center that meets the needs of all generations. This comprehensive approach to local development could serve as a model for similar projects in the region.
