Mold poison in dry imports: AK warns of possible risks

The Chamber of Labor (AK) Upper Austria carried out an investigation of the quality of dry amounts on the occasion of the soon upcoming advent. In this comprehensive analysis, eleven different products were tested to find out whether they are suitable for consumption. The results are worrying because mold poisoning was detected in seven of the eleven products.

The presence of mold poison that can be potentially harmful to health is a serious problem. Molds are microorganisms that can grow in food under certain conditions. Some species produce toxins that can lead to various health symptoms in humans. This is particularly critical in foods that are often consumed, such as in dried fruit.

test results in detail

The tests were carried out by the Chamber of Labor at the beginning of the Advent, a time when dried fruit traditionally play an important role in many kitchens. The AK has particularly pointed out that many consumers do not pay attention to the quality and possible pollutants when buying dried fruit.

The results presented show that more than half of the tested dry -free products are inadequate. Consumers are advised to be particularly careful when shopping and, if necessary, switch to alternatives. The AK recommends relying on organic quality when buying or questioning the origin of the products in order to minimize the risk of mold toxins.

This investigation has led to more intensive discussions about food safety and the importance of controls in the food industry. AK Upper Austria wants to draw attention to the risks and encourage consumers to consciously deal with the quality of their food.
