Burgenland is less popular as an autumn travel destination according to the ÖHV survey

Autumn is approaching and with it planning for the autumn holidays. A current survey by the Austrian Hotel Association (ÖHV) shows interesting insights into the vacation plans of Austrians. Surprisingly, over half of those surveyed prefer to stay in their own country. In this context, however, Burgenland does not have the best cards. According to the survey, Burgenland ranks second to last among the most popular travel destinations for the autumn holidays.

The representative survey, which was carried out before the autumn holidays, shows that 59 percent of those wishing to travel would like to spend their vacation within Germany. While Styria takes first place with a share of 20 percent, Burgenland is at the bottom of the list with only 5.9 percent.

Interestingly, Burgenland performed better in a previous survey. During the summer holidays, more travelers were interested in sunny Burgenland, while it became less attractive during the autumn holidays. However, the nature and landscape of Austria as well as the travel options and hotel quality have generally led to domestic holidays being highly rated. Six out of ten participants gave their holiday in Austria the top rating of “Very Good”.
