Burgenland success concept: flexible care for relatives!

The Burgenland employment model for supervising relatives and confidants has proven to be extremely successful since its introduction in 2019. This model enables people in need of care to be looked after in their own home for as long as possible. According to the Social Councilor Leonhard Schneemann, the concept, which is unique in Europe, has developed into the basis for future nursing plans and shows that more than 98 percent of the over 65-year-old Burgenländer would like to remain in their own four walls. So far, 630 supervising people have benefited from this model and thus guaranteed a confidential and dignified care of their relatives, reported the Social Services Burgenland reported.

Furthermore, people in need of care must receive at least level 3 care allowance in need of participation in the employment model. The supervising relatives or confidants must be suitable for health and powerful for the German language. In addition to the financial remuneration, which is based on the self -reservation of the person in need of care and varies depending on the care level, the relatives support support from qualified nursing staff in order to ensure the quality of the care by assistance.
