ATX companies pour out 6.1 billion euros in dividends-record-breaking!
In 2025, companies in the Vienna Börsenindex ATX are particularly generous when it comes to dividends. A total of 6.1 billion euros will be distributed to the shareholders: inside, whereby 17 of the 20 ATX companies make distributions. This corresponds to an impressive distribution rate of 52 percent, which rose compared to the previous year (50.3 percent). These figures are at the level of the record years 2023 and 2024, in which over 6 billion euros were also distributed, as [leadersnet.at] (https://www.leadersnet.at/news/90442 ,atx-züben-zeich-bei-bei--beuben--spendabel.html)
In 2024, the 20 ATX companies achieved around 11.5 billion euros in profit, which represents a decline of almost 5 percent compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, it remains the fourth highest year in the history of the ATX. However, Lenzing, CPI Europe and AT&S continue their practice not to release dividends, while six companies lower their distributions. In contrast, eleven companies increase their dividends by 2.1 and 22.5 percent.
Highest distributions and critical voices
The OMV dominates with the highest distribution of around 1.6 billion euros. The first group follows with a record dividend of 1.2 billion euros, while the composite lands in third place with just under one billion euros. The ÖBAG, which holds shares in OMV and network, is expected to transfer around 1.2 billion euros to the Republic.
At the same time, critical voices are drawing on dividend policy. In particular, the distributions of CA Immo, Wienerberger and OMV are criticized, since in some cases they are despite losses or above the attributable profit.
The high distribution is carried out in a tense economic environment, which indicates a positive income situation in the finance and energy sector. According to [ots.at] (https://www.ots.at/presseaus-sung/ots_20250620_ots0008/ak-report- dividend-lieben- on-record level), there could be the possibility to release additional dividend strokes in the second half of the year. This is expected by the shareholder: with excitement.

The shareholders: Inside the ATX companies, a financially strong year can look forward to, in which the yields not only remain stable despite the tense economic situation, but also experience an increase in the form of dividends. According to [SN.AT] (https://www.sn.at/wirtschaft/oesterreich/atx-Unternehmen-mrd-euro-owner-180213502)) it can be seen that despite these challenges, the dividends represent an important part of corporate policy, which should also affect future investments and the development of the ATX.
