Villach in mourning: terrorist attack shocks students and parents

There is great sadness in Villach after the shocking act of terror on Saturday in which a 14-year-old student died. The situation after the incident will be discussed in a special edition of “ZIB Spezial” this evening at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 2. Tobias Pötzelsberger and Susanne Höggerl are expected to speak. This special program focuses primarily on supporting students affected by this violent death of a classmate and highlights what measures are needed to prevent such tragedies in the future kaernten.ORF.at reported.

The alleged perpetrator is already in custody, but a number of questions remain unsolved: How do social media like TikTok influence radicalizing trends? Is it absolutely necessary to provide authorities with better tools to identify potential perpetrators at an early stage? The feeling of security among the population urgently needs to be restored. The ORF 2 program “Theme” at 9:10 p.m. will provide further information on this topic and will broadcast another “ZIB Special” with a memorial march and an ecumenical service from the main parish church of Villach on Tuesday, February 18th at 5:30 p.m ots.at highlights.
