Russia's retaliation: explosions in Taganrog shock the world!
In a dramatic military exchange between Russia and Ukraine, the Russian military has vowed to retaliate after a suspected Ukrainian missile attack with Western ATACMS missiles on Taganrog airport. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, several soldiers were injured, while damage to the airport was considered minor. The attack, which came from Ukraine, led to explosions in the Rostov region of southern Russia, also affecting a power plant. Kiev, meanwhile, did not comment on the weapons used, while local media speculated about the use of newly developed Palyanytsia drones. The escalation followed a similar incident in which Russia responded to a Ukrainian industrial city with its intermediate-range ballistic missile called Oreshnik, which Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin described as a test under combat conditions, although the consequences were rather minor at the time, reported Krone.at.
Israel bombs Iran in large-scale retaliation
At the same time, Israel has carried out a full-scale retaliatory strike on military targets in Iran in response to past missile attacks by Iran. Around 20 targets were attacked in several waves during the night, with reports confirming that the military actions were not directed against nuclear or oil facilities, but against missile and air defense systems production sites. The Israeli military said there were two Iranian soldiers killed and explosions were recorded near Tehran and in the border provinces of Khuzistan and Ilam. While Iran's foreign minister condemned the attack as aggression, the government in Tehran stressed the right to self-defense, reported ZDF.
Despite these intense attacks, the question remains how Iran will respond to the Israeli bombings. While some Iranian officials tried to portray the incident as "manageable," the Revolutionary Guards-affiliated news agency said Iran was ready to respond appropriately to the aggression. These developments further inflame the already tense situation in the Middle East, while the Israeli military also warns that any new escalation from Tehran could lead to further action.
