Russian rocket attacks on Kyiv: At least one dead and seven injuries!
A dramatic escalation: Russia fires hyperschallrakets on Kiev!
In a shocking night, a Russian rocket attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiev asked at least one life and injured seven other people! The air strikes that took place on Friday morning left a trace of destruction and set several buildings on fire. The situation in Kyiv is tense and the citizens are on alert!
Serhiy Popko, the head of the military administration of Kiev, reported on a massive attack in which Russia fired eight rockets. Under the weapons used were the dreaded Hyperschall Kinzhal rockets and the Iskander/KN-23 ballistic rockets. These attacks are not only another blow against Ukraine, but also a sign of the continuing tensions between the two countries!
The reaction of the authorities
The Mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed that air defense was active after the rocket attack. Russia justified the attack as a "answer" to Ukrainian attacks with western rockets to a chemical complex in southern Russia. "In response to the campaigns of the Kiev regime, supported by its western henchmen, a combined blow started with precise long -distance weapons today," said the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The explosions were loud and terrifying! Witnesses reported a number of loud detonations, and Rauch rose across the city. "Ballistic rocket from the north!" Warned the Ukrainian Air Force in a telegram message. Local media reported several explosions at around 7 a.m. (5:00 a.m. GMT), with Klitschko informed that "several cars in the Holosiivskyi district were on fire due to falling rubble".
The fire also spread to the districts of Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi, and even on a construction site in the Dnipro district broke out. Klitschko reported that at least seven people were injured, four of them had to be taken to the hospital.
The military situation
Before the air raid, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned that a Russian MIG 31 fighter plane, which is able to fire hyperschall, had started from a Russian military base. Later on Friday, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that it had shot five ballistic rockets and 40 drones, while another 20 drones did not achieve their destinations.
In a further dramatic turn of events, Russian President Vladimir Putin explained at a press conference that he would propose a "highly technological duel" with Kiev and test his claims that Russia's new hyperschall was a ballistic rocket against air defense systems. The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj reacted sharply to this provocation and described Putin's entourage as "racket".The tensions between the two nations are at a high point, and the latest attacks are a clear sign that the conflict continues to escalate. During the night, air raids were triggered twice in Kiev, and the city authorities reported that all drones were intercepted while rubble fell in the Desnianskyi district.
in the south of Ukraine, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported that Ukrainian soldiers struck Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups at night while trying to approach the city of Cherson. Prokudin explained that Russian troops targeted residential areas and critical infrastructures. A person was killed and at least nine others were injured.
The Russian armed forces continue their attacks in southern Ukraine to get an advantage on islands in the Dnipro-Delta. The situation remains tense and the population with constant alert will!
