Wednesday's meeting between U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin was described as "constructive and useful," according to Russian state media TASS.

During the meeting, which lasted about three hours, the two discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine. The state news portal RIA Novosti reported the content of the talks, citing the Kremlin.

Signals to the USA

"Putin sent some signals to the United States regarding the Ukraine issue. Corresponding signals were also received from President Trump," the RIA said in a social media post.

Reception in Moscow

At the beginning of the day, the US representative was received at the airport in Moscow by Russia's investment representative Kirill Dmitriev. A video later released by the Kremlin shows Witkoff shaking Putin's hand before their meeting.
