Mettmanner Tafel: Big fundraising campaign for a bright Christmas!
In Mettmann, Christmas is celebrated with heartfelt donations! In the run-up to Christmas, the Mettmanner Tafel is enjoying a wave of generous food donations that are intended to brighten the lives of people in need in the region. The TC Metzkausen tennis club collected non-perishable food in an impressive campaign. “We received a large donation,” says Simon Wilde from the Mettmanner Tafel happily. This initiative, which was launched by the club's sustainability team, shows the solidarity of the members who, through their commitment, help those in need to have a nice celebration. The donation handover, which symbolizes active support for the food bank, took place a few days ago and the initiative is highlighted as an important measure to promote social cohesion. Over 800 families regularly benefit from the Tafel's offerings, which have been supporting people in need since 2005.
Variety of actions and support
But that's not all - the Florastraße Health Center has also been diligently collecting donations, including toys, books and hygiene products, to help people in need. Here too, the goal is clear: to enable many people, especially families, to have a merry Christmas. These valuable donations will be handed over on December 10th, and Simon Wilde underlines the importance of such actions, which helped many people make the festive season more beautiful last year.
The Mettmanner Tafel is an important contact point for people with low incomes who receive support by collecting and distributing food. Anyone whose family income is below set limits can use the food bank by obtaining an ID card. This tireless community work is made possible by over 60 volunteers who take care of all processes - from procurement to sorting to distribution. The food bank relies on donations to maintain its operations and invites everyone to get involved or donate to help those in need, as it does Diakonie District Mettmann reported.
