Customs catch hiding Vietnamese in restaurant!

In a dramatic customs check on October 30th, a Vietnamese citizen was exposed in an Asian restaurant in downtown Offenburg! The check, which was carried out without suspicion, quickly revealed that the man had no identification. But in a surprising twist, he provided proof of his identity via a photo on his cell phone. What then came to light was unbelievable: there was a current advertisement for him to investigate his whereabouts!

A recurring lawbreaker

Customs were well prepared and already knew the man from an earlier inspection in June by the Koblenz main customs office. At that time, the immigration authorities issued an enforceable deportation order against him. However, instead of following orders, the Vietnamese man managed to go into hiding and evade expulsion indefinitely – until now!

The responsible immigration authority has now started deporting the man. He is currently in detention pending deportation and the costs of his detention are being billed to the restaurant owner. A real drama that shows how thin the line between freedom and deportation can be!
