On Saturday evening, October 19, 2024, an incident occurred on Rheinbrohler Straße “In der Maar” between two young men who made serious allegations against each other in a heated argument. At 11:30 p.m., the Linz am Rhein police station received a report of a threat that had just taken place.

The caller reported that an acquaintance threatened him with a metal pipe. But the other person involved, a 20-year-old man from the municipality of Bad Hönningen, described the situation completely differently. He accused the caller, a 19-year-old from Neuwied, of insulting him. The conflicting accounts led to criminal proceedings being initiated against both men.
