A nighttime drama on the highway! On the night of November 17th at 12:45 a.m. there was a crash on the southbound lane of the BAB 5 between Riegel and Teningen when three vehicles collided without braking. The result? A pile of broken glass and massive property damage expected to reach 25,000 euros! The highway turned into a chaos of contaminated road and spilling operating fluids.
The injured driver
According to police reports, a 20-year-old suffered minor injuries in the crash, while his passengers miraculously escaped unscathed. The images of the accident scene are shocking: wreckage spread across the entire road and a thick layer of spilled material made immediate cleaning necessary. This situation caused traffic to come to a standstill - the motorway maintenance department had to move out to close the road and remove the danger zone.
Traffic delays until the early hours of the morning
The southbound lane will remain closed until around 3 a.m. for rescue and cleanup work. Motorists should prepare for a diversion as crossing the closed route is currently impossible.
