A 49-year-old driver from Lünen was seriously injured after she drove towards the railway crossing despite the barriers being closed. The causes of the accident are currently unclear, but the consequences are serious!

As the Dortmund police report, the woman's Audi was hit in the rear by a train and then crashed into a tree. A blessing in disguise: The train, which was carrying around 50 passengers, is no longer operational for the time being, but the passengers were uninjured. The road and the railway line are expected to remain closed for a few more hours, which is likely to lead to significant traffic disruptions.
