A shocking incident occurred on Tuesday on Straßburger Straße in Kehl when a 43-year-old Pedelec driver was slightly injured in a collision with a car. The cyclist, who according to initial information was traveling in the opposite direction on the cycle path, was quickly taken to hospital after the accident at 5:30 p.m.
The Mercedes driver, a 33-year-old, is accused of yielding to the cyclist as she approached the site of a nearby gas station. The exact circumstances are still unclear, which makes this incident all the more mysterious.

A special aspect that stands out during the investigation: The Pedelec was seized in order to check whether any technical manipulations had been carried out. Such manipulations could be responsible for the cyclist's unusual direction of travel.
