Cuxhaven (ots)

A shocking incident occurred in the tranquil town of Hemmoor on Wednesday evening (November 6th, 2024): A 51-year-old man with no fixed address was caught red-handed breaking into a single-family home! At around 9:50 p.m., the owner of the apartment came home and strangely noticed a brightly lit room - a clear sign that something was wrong. He immediately called the police!

The officers from the Hemmoor police station were on the scene in a flash. They discovered a broken window at the back of the house and a suspicious person inside. The burglar was arrested without resistance. It turned out that the stolen goods he had with him also belonged to another break-in on the nearby Alte Ziegelei street. A truly brazen duo of crimes in one night!

Arrest and pre-trial detention!

After the initial investigation, the Stade public prosecutor's office requested that the arrested man be taken into custody. The Otterndorf district court granted the application and sent the suspect directly to a correctional facility. This rapid development is causing a stir and making the residents of Hemmoor breathe a sigh of relief - the perpetrator is behind bars!
