Hürth and Erftstadt (ots)

On the fateful weekend of October 26th and 27th, there were two strikes in the region! Unknown intruders took advantage of the darkness to loot apartments in Hürth and Erftstadt and steal valuable jewelry. These daring criminals left behind a mess of torn open cupboards and ransacked rooms in the affected households!

The first incident occurred on Saturday evening in Hürth. A male victim returned to his apartment on Stumbshofstrasse around 8 p.m. after leaving it at 5 p.m. With a horrified look he realized that unknown people had already broken into his home while he was away. The police, who were immediately alerted, were able to secure damaged lever tags on a window - clear evidence of criminal activity!

Second burglary victim alerts the police

The following day the mischief continued in Erftstadt. A resident was greeted by a nightmare when she returned to Bertold-Brecht-Strasse at 8:40 p.m.: the balcony door was open and her apartment was turned upside down. Here too, the police forces discovered clearly visible lever marks on the door, which indicates the burglars' sophisticated plan.

Criminal Investigation Department 13 now has the reins in hand and is looking for witnesses who may be able to provide information about the perpetrators or suspicious observations. Anyone with information is called upon to call 02271 81-0 or send an email to poststelle.rhein-erft-kreis@polizei.nrw.de!
