A very special accident shocked drivers on the A 6 in Dielheim! On Thursday morning, shortly before 7 a.m., there was a collision between three vehicles, which ended lightly for a 43-year-old passenger in the Citroen minibus!
A 68-year-old driver was driving his Citroen towards Mannheim when, for reasons that are still unclear, he veered off the road to the left and crashed into the guardrails. The impact was so severe that the front left tire was damaged and the minibus came to a stop in the left lane. A 57-year-old Ford driver noticed the danger in time and moved to the middle lane. But his 39-year-old colleague driving behind him was less lucky: he crashed his Renault into the back of the Ford! Chaos was complete when his Renault crashed into the immobile Citroen and came to a stop in the middle of the middle lane!
Injured and accident vehicles
The injured passenger in the Citroen only suffered minor injuries - a stroke of luck in this scenario! Unfortunately, the vehicles were badly affected. The Citroen was left with a broken rear axle, and the Renault didn't fare any better: its front axle was smashed! Both vehicles involved in the accident had to be removed, but there is no information about the damage caused.
The motorway police were busy recording the accident and recovering the vehicle until around 8:30 a.m. The left and middle lanes were closed, but there were no major traffic disruptions for waiting drivers. Traffic was directed past the right lane and the hard shoulder. Thanks to these quick measures, something worse could be prevented!
