Speed camera report: Focus on speed limits – this is where we check!
Southeast Hesse will be dominated by speed controls in the 42nd calendar week of 2024. The traffic directorate has planned a comprehensive review of speed limits in various critical areas. This not only includes accident hotspots and construction sites, but also routes that are subject to special requirements due to noise protection. An important aspect of these measures is the protection of all road users, which is why authorities want both drivers and pedestrians to reach their destination safely.
The checks are scheduled for various locations in the region. On October 14th, checks will take place on the BAB 66 between Gründau and Gelnhausen, in a construction site. Speed tests are also scheduled on Hammerstrasse in Brachttal. These areas are classified as speed hazard routes, meaning extra caution is required there.
Planned inspection days
The following day, October 15th, there will be further measurements on the BAB 66, with particular focus on the L 3445 near Langenselbold and the K 903 in Niedermittlau. These sections are known as accident hotspots and therefore require more intensive traffic monitoring.
Officials may use the morning of October 16th for additional measurements on the same route. Particular attention is paid here to the danger zones, which naturally pose a greater risk of traffic accidents.
On October 17th and 18th we head towards Fulda. In particular, checks are carried out on the BAB 66 at the Bad Soden-Salmünster junction in order to minimize possible sources of noise. These control measures are part of the authorities' commitment to greater road safety and environmental protection. Road users should prepare for this and drive faster, as required by traffic regulations.
On the last days of this inspection week, October 19th and 20th, the BAB 66 in the direction of Hanau will also remain a focus for speed controls. The police expect these restrictions to be observed carefully and thus contribute to safety on the streets.
The announcement of these measurements comes in the hope that drivers will be aware of the dangers in critical areas and adjust their speed accordingly. This is important not only for your own safety, but also for the safety of other road users. A fast and safety-oriented driver does not endanger himself or others. In this regard, speed checks are a simple but effective way to increase safety on our roads.
