Cultural highlight in Martinsberg: music, art and conviviality!

Poggschlag, Österreich - On December 8, 2024, Martinsberg experienced a lively Advent festival, which was opened by the welcome speech by Josef Rehberger. Eight different groups contributed a varied program, which were presented, among other things, by a youth wind orchestra, a kindergarten, a guitar ensemble and a elementary school choir. The overall management held music school director Martha Hobel. For the visitors, 15 exhibitors were ready in the Martinssaal, who presented a variety of products, while six different clubs, including the rural youth and the volunteer fire brigade, provided culinary care. Mayor Friedrich Fürst and the former MP Angela Fichtinger were one of the prominent guests who visited the event.

Josef Rehberger: A life for art

The Advent Festival not only attracted attention in Martinsberg, but also lets the talented actor Josef Rehberger think, whose life was dedicated to art. As the Israelite Wochenblatt reminded, his laughter in Vienna fell silent when he died in Zurich. He had suffered from a lung disease for years that significantly impaired his career and passion. Rehberger was a dazzling figure on stage, and his death was described as tragic by contemporaries like the Austrian actor Eugen Jensen - a victim of his era and tireless devotion to art, which ultimately became doom.

not only the pre -Christmas period is celebrated in the festive Advent market, but also the unforgettable legacy by Josef Rehberger, whose memories and artistic contributions are also important today. The interaction of the performances on this day and the appreciation of Rehberger show that the cultural scene is not only alive, but also deeply rooted in history.
