Financial police are alarm: Checks in Balkan bakeries reveal scandals!

In February of this year, the financial police in Upper Austria carried out extensive controls in ten bakeries with Balkan specialties. These measures were directed in particular against companies that had repeatedly violated the Foreigners' Activation Act. A total of 34 people, including 31 foreign and 3 Austrian employees, were checked during the controls.

The results of the control were worrying. Various violations were certified by the certified bakeries, including four violations of the foreigner employment law and other violations in accordance with the General Social Insurance Act, the trade regulations and the Working Hours Act. In addition, problems in connection with registration coffers and receipts were found.

legal consequences

A 26-year-old Kosovare was arrested during the check. For employers who had employed seven third -country nationals, punishments between 2,000 and 20,000 euros are at risk. In all affected companies there were already pre -notices for illegal foreign work, which is why applications for withdrawal of the commercial statement were made.

The financial police stated that an amount of 12,866 euros was paid on site of outstanding taxes. Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer emphasized the importance of compliance with tax laws and the associated consequences for violations. He underlined that such measures contribute to creating fair competitive conditions and strengthening the legal framework.

The foreign work law that applies in Austria makes it clear that only certain groups of people from third countries may be employed under special conditions. In addition to high fines, violations of this law can also result in other legal consequences for individual companies.
