Prizes for journalists: Submissions possible until the end of March!
The Austrian Medical Association is calling for submissions for the “Prize for special journalistic achievements in the interest of the healthcare system” 2024. The prize, which is endowed with 5,000 euros, is aimed at full-time journalists who deal with health policy issues. Work must be submitted to the Austrian Medical Association in Vienna by March 31, 2025. The jury, made up of experts from the Medical Association, will also consider the possibility of dividing the prize into several equally valuable entries. Important requirements are that the submitted work was published in 2024 and the authors' main residence is in Austria. Exclusion criteria only concern medical-scientific issues that cannot be taken into account, such as ots.at reported.
The Vienna Legal Society is calling for the 2025 funding award
At the same time, the 2025 funding award from the Vienna Legal Society will be announced in cooperation with the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business. This prize honors exceptional dissertations in the field of law submitted by young academics under the age of 35. The deadline is also March 31, 2025, and dissertations must have been approved between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024. Here too, the prize is endowed with 5,000 euros per category, although in special cases a third prize can also be awarded or prizes can be shared. The selection is made by a five-person jury consisting of representatives from both universities and the Law Society. How wjg.at reported, the submitted works must also be accompanied by CVs of the authors and corresponding reports.
