IHK Ostwestfalen celebrates 175 years: Hope and challenges for the future!

Bielefeld, Deutschland - The East Westphalia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) recently celebrated its 175th anniversary. As part of an official ceremony with 250 invited guests from business, politics and society, the anniversary with the motto "175 years IHK - East Westphalia. Strong!" celebrated. Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck (Greens) held the speech, while Ortwin Goldbeck, who was President of the IHK from 1994 to 2014, highlighted the invaluable value of the IHK for the middle class. During his term in office, Goldbeck implemented numerous goals, including advertising for more apprenticeships and strengthening the cooperation between business and science.

The IHK Ostwestfalen, founded in 1849, represents the interests of over 115,000 member companies from industry, trade and service towards politics and the public. In another report by Westfalen-leaf it was emphasized that IHK President Wahl-Schwentker emphasized the economic strength and change in the region.
