Burglary at figure skating star: irreplaceable Olympic medal stolen!
Christine Stüber-Anerrath, the former GDR ice skating runner and bronze medalist of the 1976 Olympic Games in Innsbruck, has been the victim of a slump on New Year's Eve. While she lingered on the Baltic Sea with her husband, unknown perpetrators penetrated her home in Wildau. The slump was discovered on New Year's Day by a neighbor who immediately informed.
In the break -in, the burglars left climbing tracks on the house facade, although the house is equipped with blinds and safety glass. The perpetrators got into the bedroom through a small, double -glazed window. It remains unclear how many people were involved in the break -in, but the thorough searches of all cupboards and shelves indicate experienced criminals. Two doors and a window were damaged with a crowbar. Stüber-Anrath's Olympic ceremony from 1976 as well as wedding jewelry, which it particularly hurts, were stolen, since the medal is worthless for the burglars, but is irreplaceable for them and is associated with many memories.
personal effects and security concerns
Stüber-Anerrath, who celebrated her 68th birthday on December 29th in Stralsund and spent the turn of the year at Rügen, felt mentally exhausted and expressed her fear of the detachment of the perpetrators. It plans to increase its safety precautions, including the installation of an alarm system and cameras. In addition, she advises other home owners to take their security seriously and expresses concern about the general security situation. In an appeal, she calls for more police presence and consistent law enforcement.
The loss of the medal, which she only won due to severe foot injury and contrary to all adversity, affected it. After becoming a witness to the devastation in her house on New Year's morning, she appealed to the burglars to return the medal. Stüber-Anerrath, who is also active after her sporting career as a TV presenter and on show evenings, is still committed to it and feels important to talk about these topics in society.
