SK Rapid Vienna has officially announced Peter Stöger as their new head coach. The club confirmed the decision on Monday, May 26, 2025. Stöger will receive a contract until 2027 and will look after the team in the coming 2025/26 season. The contract runs for two years and was signed as part of an intensive selection phase.
After his active playing career, Stöger returns to Rapid, where he laced his shoes himself from 1995 to 1998. His coaching experience is also impressive; Among other things, he led Wiener Austria to their last championship title in 2013 before it was announced that his official introduction would take place on June 2nd at 10:30 a.m. This return to Vienna-Hütteldorf is associated with great anticipation.

SK Rapids President Alexander Wrabetz spoke positively about Stöger and thanked the other potential coaching candidates for the discussions.
