Generous donation secures summer camp for Neuwied kids!

In Neuwied, VfL Neuwied is celebrating a generous donation of 5,000 euros provided by VR Bank Rhein-Ahr-Eifel and Raiffeisendruckerei. This support was handed over on December 10, 2024, on the artificial turf pitch on Bimsstrasse. The club chairman Klaus Dillenberger was pleased with the 2,500 euros each, which is crucial for the continuation of the popular summer football camp for children and young people. The donation will make it possible to offer the camp free of charge next year and to reach a wider audience - especially children from financially weaker families who are already eagerly asking whether the camp will take place again in 2025. How current4u reported that part of the donation will also be invested in the training of volunteer trainers, which should strengthen the club in the long term.

The summer football camp has established itself as an important initiative in the region and this year offered around 60 children the opportunity to improve their football skills under expert guidance and to have unforgettable experiences together. Each participant was able to look forward to a jersey and their own football vr-rheinahreifel reported. Matthias Herfurth, board member of VR Bank, emphasizes the importance of local initiatives that help provide positive impulses for young people. Mayor Peter Jung praised the support and emphasized that it was the city's intention to promote participation for every child.
