On Thursday morning, police officers on the A8 towards Passau became suspicious of a dilapidated coach that was being checked due to external defects. The bus was directed to a technical inspection point in Suben, where experts from the Upper Austrian state government subjected the vehicle to a detailed inspection. Not only were these goods illegal, but they were also transported in unsanitary conditions, violating animal health and customs regulations. The food was then confiscated because it posed health risks to food safety. The 39-year-old bus driver from Montenegro was informed of the results of the check and had to pay a four-digit euro security deposit. The bus' license plates were removed and the vehicle was immobilized, leading to the abrupt termination of the journey. The police made it clear that continuing with this bus would have been life-threatening, which is why the passengers had to take an unannounced forced break in Suben.
