Christmas blue light pilgrimage: 400 participants celebrate community in the Mostviertel!

Gresten, Österreich - On December 18, 2024, a large Christmas blue light pilgrimage took place in the Mostviertel, which was organized by the Lower Austria military command. Around 400 participants took part in this special event, including soldiers from the Federal Army, members of the police, members of the volunteer fire brigade and the Red Cross. The event was led by Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner, who symbolized the first step of the upcoming celebrations to reflect on Christmas. The pilgrims marched together on an approximately ten-kilometer route from Perwarth via Randegg to Gresten, such as meinbezirk.at reported.

The Christmas blue light pilgrimage was a wonderful opportunity to experience Advent together in the circle of the “Security Family Family Lower Austria” and to strengthen the cooperation. The highlight of the event was a solemn service in Greste, celebrated by military bishop Werner Freistetter. This pilgrimage replaced the 6th blue light pilgrimage originally planned in September, which had to be moved due to flood inserts. In addition, Colonel Franz Wagenhofer was honored for his impressive 50-year service as part of the event. Minister Tanner paid homage to his merit after he started service in 1976 and had various management positions until 2009. He contributed significantly to the further development of the railway system in the Armed Forces, as Noen.at

This contemplative event was not only a sign of cohesion in the security forces, but also a valuable way to adapt to the upcoming Christmas and to emphasize the importance of cooperation.
