On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, an 81-year-old woman from the Spittal an der Drau district, who had been missing since June 13, was found dead in the municipality of Heiligenblut am Großglockner. The body was recovered around 10:40 a.m. in rough terrain at an altitude of 1,850 meters. Numerous emergency services were involved in the search operation, which spanned several days.

The body was recovered by the “Libelle Salzburg” police helicopter.
