Serious accident in Sierning: Car overturns – driver trapped!

Early on Sunday morning, February 16, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the B140 Steyrtalstrasse near Sierning. An 18-year-old driver left the road for unknown reasons and rolled over several times before the car came to rest on its roof in a field. In this dangerous situation, the car was in danger of crashing over the steep embankment with the seriously injured driver ORF OÖ reported.

The alerted emergency services from three fire departments immediately secured the accident vehicle in order to avoid further danger. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the trapped driver from his demolished car. After initial treatment by an emergency doctor, the seriously injured man was flown to the Kepler University Hospital in the “Christophorus 2” rescue helicopter Fireworld reported. The B140 was closed between Sierning and Waldneukirchen for around two hours while the fire brigade and a towing company carried out the clean-up work.
