Serious accident in Krummnußbaum: car crashes into garden!

On March 26, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred in Krummnußbaum, near the west entrance to the town, in which a car collided with a traffic island. The car left the road and ended up in an adjacent garden. The emergency services, consisting of the fire department, rescue service and police, arrived at the scene of the accident at 11 p.m. In the meantime, the driver received medical care from ASBÖ Pöchlarn/Neuda.

The fire department carried out a variety of measures. This included securing the accident site, illuminating the area and recovering the accident vehicle with a telehandler. Furthermore, the battery was disconnected, spilled operating resources were tied up and vehicle parts were collected. A total of 12 firefighters were deployed, with the entire operation taking around two hours. An ambulance with two paramedics and a police patrol car were also involved in this operation.

Rescue in Bad Vöslau

Just a few days earlier, on Sunday evening, there was another traffic accident in Bad Vöslau, on the motorway slip road. Here, the Bad Vöslau volunteer fire department was called by the police to rescue the vehicle after a badly damaged car fell head-on into a guardrail. Fire brigade operations manager Philipp Michalek reported on the situation and the start of the rescue work, during which the vehicle was recovered using the crane of a swap-loading vehicle.

The injured driver received immediate care from a fire department paramedic who looked after him until the emergency services arrived. The injured person was transported to a nearby hospital by an ambulance. After the rescue and cleanup work was completed, the site was handed over to the road maintainer and the police.
