On Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025, a serious accident occurred on Autobahn 81 Stuttgart-Singen when a refrigerated truck loaded with food overturned. The accident site is located between the Sulz/Vöhringen and Rottweil exits, near Vöhringen. The two occupants of the truck were injured.
How NRWZ reported, the truck had obviously left the road and is now on the shoulder to the right of the road. Police have begun an investigation into the cause of the accident, which is still unknown at this time. Despite the incident, the accident site remains passable and closure is not necessary.
Rescue operation and traffic situation
Rescue workers from the German Red Cross and the fire department were alerted and arrived at the scene of the accident shortly after half past eight. 14 members of the Sulz fire department are on duty under the command of city fire chief Florian Karl. To ensure access to the occupants, firefighters removed the bushes using pruning shears and chainsaws. The two occupants were saved through the windshield. The fire brigade is also trying to catch any leaking fuel while the police are taking care of the recovery of the vehicle.
How Black Forest messenger reported, the right lane is closed. In the direction of Singen, traffic is backed up for around two kilometers. The recovery of the truck could take several hours, although the towing company is not yet on site. There is no evidence of any dangerous cargo or parts on the road. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
