Serious bobsleigh accident in Winterberg: World Cup race postponed!

At the World Cup four-man bobsleigh in Winterberg, the race was postponed due to a serious fall on a track sled. The incident occurred in the finish corner before the second round. An occupant of the track sled suffered serious injuries and received emergency medical attention immediately. A rescue helicopter was used to rescue the injured athlete.

According to reports, the pusher fell out of the bobsleigh and injured himself while the sports equipment with the pilot slid towards the finish. This leads to immediate intervention by rescue workers on site, as well star reported. Meanwhile, Adam Ammour from BRC Thuringia had already suffered a serious fall in the lower passage during the final training. Two of his pushers then had to be taken to the hospital. Ammour himself escaped with bruises and took second place in the two-man bobsleigh.

The injured occupant is currently receiving medical care, but further details about the injuries are not yet known. Adam Ammour also took third place in the first round with the big sled and was positive about his comeback, although he described his fall as very strong.
