In the early morning hours of November 30, 2024, there was a serious traffic accident in Mittewald, municipality of Anras. A Slovenian family of four was driving on the B100 Drautalstraße towards Italy at around 7:37 a.m. when the 36-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle. The car moved into the left lane, went over the edge of the road and crashed into a concrete pillar. Fortunately, the occupants were able to free themselves from the vehicle and make an emergency call. In total, both the Red Cross with ten personnel and the Assling fire department with 12 emergency services and six police officers were deployed.

There was a rear-end collision between Offenbach and Frankfurt involving four vehicles, resulting in a five-kilometer-long traffic jam. In the Obertshausen area, another accident involving a truck caused traffic disruptions that stretched up to 15 kilometers.
The police recommended that drivers take a diversion as the emergency services were busy clearing the scene of the accident. These delays led to the ADAC expecting at least 23 minutes of lost time for the drivers affected. The accident site remained unsecured and both events illustrate the dangers and challenges posed by heavy traffic.
